One simple discussion routine
- 01Show
Display one answer-free visual or matching card. Give students quiet time to notice quantities, repeated shapes, and empty places.
- 02Name
Use the legend to name each fixed-value symbol and ask what every visible symbol is worth.
- 03Connect
Record standard form, word form, expanded form, and the value of a selected digit.
- 04Explain
Ask students to justify the number by connecting each written contribution to the visual model.
